Small group gatherings provide a way for people to get to know one another on a deeper level. These different groups offer a way to support one another in faith and life.

Quiet Center

This is an ecumenical, interfaith or no faith at all gathering. It provides a time for us to sit in silence with other seekers as we listen for the holy in our midst. There is also time during each gathering for informal fellowship.

During the pandemic, Quiet Center has been suspended. We will resume meeting when it is safe to get together again.

Saturday Morning Bible Study

A group meets on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month at 10:45 to delve into the Bible together. Usually, the group works its way through one book of the Bible at a time. Questions and wonderments are welcome because none of us has it figured out!

While the church is closed during the pandemic, Saturday morning Bible Study and Radical Conversations has combined. The group meets every Saturday morning at 11:00 on Zoom.

Women’s Book Group

The book group meets monthly to discuss a book from across genres and topics. Each person can volunteer to choose a book and lead the discussion. Not only do we read together, but we have a time at the beginning of each gathering to check in with each other about our lives.

Dinner Group

All are invited to join in the fun with a monthly dinner group. The group meets at a restaurant or in someone’s home. They also periodically enjoy fun outings for things like Oktoberfest, museum visits, and art installations.
During the pandemic, Dinner Group is not meeting. We will resume meeting when it is safe to get together again.

White Privilege Conversations

In May 2020, we formed a group that has been probing into what white privilege means and how if affects us as individuals, as a community, and as a country. We used UCC curriculum for six weeks to guide us in meaningful conversations that probed our own views and revealed how white privilege pervades every part of life in our country. After the six weeks, we began engaging in conversations with people of color in our community who are willing to share their experiences with us and we formed a group who reads a book a month centering on black experiences and on anti-racist ways of being. We are currently meeting on the second and fourth Tuesdays at 7:30. For more information, contact Susan at pastorsusan@gladeucc.org.

Wednesday Zoom Gathering

During the pandemic, we are gathering on Wednesdays at 10:00 for a time of fellowship to catch up with one another and some time to focus on our faith. Sometimes we read scripture or a poem, listen to music, or ponder different parts of our spiritual lives and how we live our faith in the world. Everyone is welcome to join us whenever you can make it! For more information, contact Susan at pastorsusan@gladeucc.org.
